The Global Transfer Pricing Forum - Europe is going virtual

The 20th annual ITR Global Transfer Pricing Forum - Europe will be taking place virtually over two days on September 29-30. Avni Dika has more than 20 years of experience on advising business on transfer pricing and international tax related matters.

 

Avni is since 2010 Global Head Transfer Pricing of Syngenta (a Swiss based leading agriculture company), where he has global end-to-end responsibility for all transfer pricing related matters and global tax risk management.

 

Prior to joining Syngenta he worked as a Senior Transfer Pricing Manager for Daimler AG (Automotive), Deloitte and Arthur Andersen, all based in Stuttgart/Germany and primarily dealing with transfer pricing and international tax related matters.

 

He is regular speaker at tax/transfer pricing conferences and active member in several industry (tax) organizations (SwissHoldings in Switzerland, AWV TP-Directors forum in Germany) to promote “tax certainty with clear and simple tax policy developments”.

 

Avni holds a MBA and a MBLT (Business Law & Taxation) both from the University of Mannheim/Germany and is a CFA Charterholder. In 2020 Avni has received the award European Transfer Pricing Director of the Year 2020 by International Tax Review.

Vineet Rachh is a Senior Director – Taxes with Procter & Gamble. He leads

Business Model and Transfer Pricing for Europe, India, Middle East and Africa region (EIMEA), and regional tax for MEA. His responsibilities include developing and implementing global supply chain solutions and handling international tax, transfer pricing, M&A and cross-border matters.  This is in addition to leading regional tax compliance, audits and controversies.  

 

In his 27 years career, he has engaged with several tax authorities in Asia Pacific and Middle East Africa on various subjects, including APAs and MAPs. He has also represented at OECD’s Task Force on Tax and Developments Sub-Group on Transfer Pricing and the G20 Tax Summit on BEPS.  Prior to joining P&G, he has worked with other MNCs and Big 4.  He is currently based in Geneva Switzerland, prior to this he lived in Singapore and India.  

 

He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Graduate from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. He is also a member of several tax network groups and a regular speaker at tax conferences in Europe, Asia and Africa including at the University of Lausanne.

Andrea was born in Czech Republic. She studied University of Economics in Prague and Postgraduate of International Tax Law in Vienna, Austria. During her studies she joined Horwath TPA and worked in Czech, Slovakia and Austria with main responsibility in M&A and international tax advisory. In 2005 she was posted to Shanghai (still with Horwath) as the Head of Representative Office. In 2008 she joined Deloitte and moved to HCMC, Vietnam as Tax Director where she took over responsibility for transfer pricing topics. In 2011 she returned to Vienna to work for Deloitte, during which time she was seconded for 3 months to Brussels to further develop her skills in TP of financial transactions.

 

In September 2014, after nearly 15 years in consulting industry, she joined Erste Group as Head of Transfer Pricing. Since 2014 Andrea held different roles in the CFO division of Erste Group, while always keeping responsibility for Transfer Pricing. Her current position is Executive Assistant to CFO/CRO of the Austrian subsidiary of Erste Group.

Andrea is the Global Head of Transfer Pricing at Swiss Re, one of the world's largest reinsurers.  Since 2002, she has specialized in insurance tax and transfer pricing.  Before joining Swiss Re in 2017, she worked in EY, KPMG, and two European life insurance groups in London and Edinburgh.

 

She is a Chartered Tax Adviser in the UK, and holds a juris doctor from Duke University. Andrea started her career as US Navy Lawyer before moving to the UK and requalifying in tax.

The full line of global transfer pricing services Marina provides includes documentation for compliance/penalty protection, planning analyses to establish market rate pricing, as well as analyses to support corporate objectives including cashflow management, tax efficiencies, and transfer pricing risk mitigation. She provides services related to the OECD BEPS initiative (Country-by-Country Reporting, Master Files, Local Files) and has expertise in controversy/audit defense and advance pricing agreement negotiations.

Prior experience includes KPMG LLP (Boston, Melbourne Australia, New York) where she advised a diverse client base in multiple industries including technology, consumer goods, entertainment, professional services, financial services, e-commerce, and pharmaceutical firms, among others. Mark van Casteren is a tax partner in the Amsterdam offices of Loyens & Loeff. He is a member of the Transfer Pricing Team and the International Corporate Tax Practice Group. Mark studied tax law at the University of Amsterdam where he obtained his degree in 1990. In 1991, he participated in an LLM tax program at Emory University, Atlanta Georgia, studying US corporate income tax and Taxation of pass through entities. In 1992, Mark joined Loyens & Volkmaars, the tax law firm which merged with Loeff Claeys Verbeke to become Loyens & Loeff in 2000. Soon after becoming a partner of the firm in 2001, he moved to the US, to head the Loyens & Loeff office in New York until the fall of 2005. Since then, Mark is practising from the Amsterdam Loyens & Loeff office again. Mark’s practice is focused on the Transfer Pricing aspects of multi-nationally operating groups. Together with his team, he approaches these aspects on a quantitative basis.
