TAXATION OF THE DIGITAL ECONOMY SUMMIT 2019

September 19 Le Méridien Piccadilly
London

Overview

ITR's annual Taxation of the Digital Economy Summit was held on September 19 2019 at Le Meridien Piccadilly Hotel, London.

The digital transformation of taxes and the taxation of the digital economy are vital topics on today‘s global tax agenda, and more than ever, there is an urgent need in a broader discussion to tackle all implications, opportunities, and challenges of these developments.

Companies will face assessing the value of user interactions for tax purposes; balancing the cost of implementing the action versus revenue collected from the tax; and what parts of the economy and what businesses should be considered digital“ and non-digital. In light of this new landscape, proactivity is key in identifying, measuring and, finally, addressing tax related risks.

ITR lined up leading tax regulators and esteemed tax directors from some of the world’s largest multinationals, to share insights and advice on some of the most complex issues facing the industry at the moment. Attendees heard from digital tax business leaders and gained an overview of evolving digital tax policy and the future roadmap for digital taxation.

The Summit’s packed agenda featured representatives from regional tax authorities and policy organisations, senior tax directors, and tax specialists. But what set this event apart was the interactive deep dive round-table format, discussing topics and sharing issues of relevance with a room of carefully selected and invited senior in-house tax executives from across Europe.

Participation at this event was by invitation only and places were strictly limited.
